This was a challenging and emotional piece of work to do. We all grieve in different ways for different things and people. There is no right or wrong way nor is there a manual on how to grieve. I tell my patients to " just walk with grief at your pace".

This morning I got the sad news that one of my dearest friend/patient had passed. I grieved only for a few minutes but then I celebrated the life she lived and the many lives she touched with her love and humour. She and her family were a welcoming beacon to me and our family over 20 years ago when we arrived in Ballarat, a city where we did not know a single person. My kids loved it when she visited as I always came home from clinic with a large bag of Mars chocolates. Over the recent months, I had been visiting her and on my last visit a few weeks ago we discussed the history of hotels and pubs in Ballarat since 1853. Love her!
An angel has left us. May her soul rest in peace.
